Dear clients and web site visitors.  I am kicking off my blog with this December posting.  I will be posting at least once a month accounting/finance/lifestyle tips.  Maybe more if the inspiration catches me.

For the 2020 tax filing year you can now have a new deduction up to $300 for any donation you make even if you are not itemizing deductions.  Small yes, I know, but could put another $50 in your pocket.  Be sure to save those donation slips.

Do you review your online banking and credit card accounts regularly for recently cleared transactions?  Cultivating a habit of doing this every couple days will allow you to catch quickly any fraudulent activity.  Your bank and credit card accounts can also be linked into your personal finance programs like Quicken, Mint, YNAB (more on those later).

Keep your water intake up.  During these colder months we have a tendency to slow down on drinking water.  Staying hydrated keeps the emotions even.

I’m not a technical mountain climber, but I do like to get out and take some rigorous and gorgeous hikes.  Broken Top (next to the Three Sisters).
